🎉 Exciting News from Monmouthshire! 🎉

Llanvetherine Court, a farm nestled east of Abergavenny, has been given the green light to host more events with extended hours, despite concerns from local residents. Huw Evans, the 25-year-old farmer behind this countryside hotspot, plans to turn the farm into a vibrant venue for weddings, concerts, farm tours, and wine tastings. 🍷🎶

Neighbours worried about this becoming the “next Glastonbury” voiced concerns over potential noise and disrupted lives. Despite this, the Monmouthshire County Council has approved the licence change, allowing festivities to extend into the early hours on weekends. 🎵

During a council meeting, locals expressed their worries about noise and inadequate road access, but they’ve been reassured by the farm’s efforts in soundproofing and managing events responsibly. Remarkably, since hosting events under temporary licences since 2018, the farm has received just two noise complaints, both of which were promptly addressed.
Huw, alongside his father Edward, revealed they’ve heavily invested in improving their barns, accommodating up to 250 guests with state-of-the-art soundproofing. Their innovative solutions, like a “straw bale castle,” aim to keep the atmosphere festive yet neighbour-friendly.
Ultimately, the council’s decision reflected confidence in Huw’s approach and plans, urging continued dialogue with the community to smooth out any concerns about traffic and noise. 🚜🌿
