🚦 Heads up, Wales drivers! 🚗 New 20mph speed cameras are getting switched on soon, and here’s what you need to know!
On Saturday, November 15, four new cameras will go live on Cardiff Road in Troedyrhiw and Edwardsville, Merthyr. These cameras aim to make our roads safer by encouraging everyone to stick to the speed limit.
For the first four weeks, if you’re caught exceeding the limit, you’ll receive an advice letter rather than facing prosecution straight away—provided you haven’t received one already. This is a friendly nudge to remind you of the correct speed and to keep things safe, without heading straight to enforcement measures.
Most of us strive to drive carefully, but it’s easy to miss a speed limit sign. So, these advisory letters help bridge that gap before anyone gets in trouble with the law.
