A shocking case of domestic violence has come to light after Andrew Hale, 35, launched a brutal attack on his partner in Tredegar following the end of their relationship. Despite social services’ restrictions, Hale appeared at his ex-partner’s home on May 29. After she told him they couldn’t continue their relationship, Hale, in a fit of rage, repeatedly kicked and punched her.

In an odd twist, after the attack, Hale went downstairs to fetch a bag of frozen peas, trying to minimise the visible swelling on her face. Despite her initial reluctance to identify him, the police were called, and Hale was eventually detained and arrested. He denied all allegations but was later convicted of assault causing actual bodily harm.

In court, the victim bravely shared the terrifying ordeal she endured. She expressed her fear, saying, “I genuinely believed he would have killed me.” The emotional and physical scars left by Hale have impacted her deeply, fostering anxiety and mistrust in all future relationships.
Hale has been sentenced to three years in prison, with the judge describing his attack as “nasty and vicious.” Alongside his sentence, Hale was also hit with a five-year restraining order.
