🎄✨ Amazing Christmas Spirit in Cardiff! ✨🎄
This Christmas, a heartwarming tradition continued in Cardiff as a local fish and chip shop spread joy and kindness throughout the community. The family-run Victoria Fish Bar, in Whitchurch, delivered an incredible 1,070 hot meals to individuals and services in need, marking their most successful year yet!
From the crack of dawn, dedicated volunteers cooked, packed, and delivered meals to hospitals, emergency services, and the homeless across Cardiff. Some recipients included Heath Hospital, Llandough Hospital, the Huggard Centre, various ambulance and fire stations, and sites scattered throughout the city centre.
The extraordinary effort was powered by an outpouring of support from the Cardiff community, with an abundance of volunteers and generous donations from residents, local businesses, and key suppliers. Alpha Foods, Peter’s Pies, Clarke’s Pies, SR Davis, A J Carrington Potatoes, Khyber Foods, Global Foods, and Webbers Fish played vital roles in making this possible with their generous food donations.
Muhammad Nazakat, a spokesperson for Victoria Fish Bar, expressed immense gratitude: “We have been truly overwhelmed by the love and support shown by our community. None of this would have been possible without our incredible volunteers—your kindness and energy are the backbone of this initiative.”
Alongside the delicious meals, the chippy also orchestrated the distribution of food, clothing, and toiletries, with the majority heading to the Huggard Centre, Cardiff’s primary homelessness support service.
