🚨 Shocking Incident on School Bus 🚨

A deeply unsettling event has left parents and students shaken after a 61-year-old man allegedly engaged in a sexual act on a bus full of schoolchildren. This distressing ordeal unfolded on their way to school with Gwent Police now actively searching for the suspect who has reportedly breached bail conditions.

One mum, whose daughter was on the bus, recounted the alarming details her daughter shared. Apparently, the man, appearing intoxicated and intent on creating havoc, began making conversation with the students. He disturbingly turned the questioning towards topics of alcohol and drugs, even offering sweets and suggesting a trip to Chepstow Racecourse. As the situation got more uncomfortable, some students tried to distance themselves, but the man allegedly continued his inappropriate behaviour discreetly, causing distress among the children.
The mum praised the quick, supportive response from teachers at her daughter’s school and has since voiced her concerns on child safety during commutes to Monmouthshire County Council. Facing guilt and worry, she’s even considered moving to avoid the bus commute altogether.
While the girl is back on the bus, her mother hopes for improved measures, potentially advocating for a dedicated school bus to ensure students’ safety.
Gwent Police have confirmed they took several statements and arrested the suspect in November, who was released on conditional bail. As he appeared to disregard these conditions, the police are making active efforts to find him.
Monmouthshire County Council remarked on the gravity of the situation, maintaining that they take the safety of young learners seriously, but clarified that the children were travelling as paying passengers rather than on council-provided transport.
This incident has surely sparked a conversation on the safety of our children during their daily commutes. Parents, how do you feel about the safety of public transport for school children? Let’s discuss in the comments below. 🚌💬
