🌸 Remembering April Jones 🌸
It’s been nearly 14 years since the tragic disappearance of five-year-old April Jones from her small town of Machynlleth, Wales, and her family still grapples with grief and disbelief. April vanished in 2012 while playing near her home, and despite extensive searches, her body has never been found.
Mark Bridger, the man responsible for this unimaginable crime, was sentenced to a whole-life term in 2013. He was convicted of abduction, murder, and the concealment of April’s body. Though some remains were found at Bridger’s cottage, most of April’s remains were never recovered.
April’s elder sister, Hazel Jones, now 31, has opened up about the lasting impact on her family. “It’s been 13 years, and it still hasn’t sunk in. I keep hoping to wake up from this nightmare,” she shares. Hazel has expressed her belief that Bridger should endure his sentence without reprieve, stating, “He deserves everything he’s getting. The death penalty is an easy way out. Make him suffer.”
Bridger has faced attacks in prison, the latest just last month. Hazel comments, “He didn’t give April an easy way out. Make him live every day knowing he’s not getting out.”
