CETMA Swansea, a lifeline for hundreds in need every month, is on the brink of closure by Christmas if funds aren’t secured soon! This vital community hub provides emergency food packages, free sim cards, and digital support to those struggling in the city. Rising costs and limited funding have left this essential service in jeopardy.

Elian Williams, the project coordinator, shared, “We help those who can’t wait for their next benefit payment or get to a foodbank. Our services include everything from food to clothing, sim cards, and digital training—but we’re running out of resources.”

This year, an increasing number of people have turned to CETMA for support, especially during the summer and winter months. In the past two months alone, they’ve distributed 40 emergency food packs, 15 free sim cards, and provided a warm, welcoming space to over 30 individuals.

However, the funding crisis means that their stockpile is running dangerously low. Without urgent support, CETMA may have to reduce its services or close, leaving a massive gap for those they help. “Without us, many in the city centre might end up with nothing. Other organisations rely on us too,” Elian emphasises.

Swansea, known for its strong sense of community, stands at a crossroads. With several businesses already closed in 2025, the closure of CETMA would be a significant blow to the city’s vulnerable population.
