Richardson, 39, from Stockport, faced justice after admitting to stalking and harassment charges. He is now prohibited from contacting Naomi and Emma or visiting their homes. The case will be sentenced at Manchester Crown Court on 18th August.

In his misguided attempts to “win her over,” Richardson sent Emma everything from Selfridges vouchers to flowers, hoping to start a relationship. His admission of being “out of practice with the girls” doesn’t excuse the distress he caused.

Unfortunately, Naomi isn’t the only British tennis star facing such challenges. Emma Raducanu and Katie Boulter have also dealt with similar situations. Emma was left in tears after seeing a stalker in the stands, while Katie has faced violent threats from overzealous fans.

This ongoing issue highlights the need for increased protection for athletes. Our thoughts are with Naomi and her family as they move forward from these troubling events. 💔 Stay safe, everyone!
