🚗 Big changes are coming for electric vehicles in London! 🚗
From 2nd January, electric cars will no longer be exempt from the congestion charge. With EV numbers skyrocketing, the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, says the move is crucial to keep the city moving and the air clean. But not everyone agrees! Some motoring experts warn this could discourage the switch to greener vehicles.
Currently, pure battery EVs enjoy a 100% discount. But soon, cars will only get a 25% cut, and vans and lorries will see their discount slashed to 50%. Fast forward to 2030, and it’ll drop even more!
The congestion charge area covers central London, and the daily rate is jumping from £15 to £18—ouch!
