Cardiff’s weekend plans are taking a hit as Storm Amy rolls into Wales with fierce winds and heavy rain. 🌬️ The Saturday Junior Races, part of the Cardiff Half Marathon festivities, are now postponed. Safety first—organisers made this tough call due to a yellow weather warning from the Met Office, prioritising the wellbeing of our young runners, spectators, and the event crew.

While the Junior Races are pushed to 2026, don’t worry, the main Oysho Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday, 5th October is still set to go ahead. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ The event village will be buzzing all weekend with race pack collections, t-shirt pick-ups, and more!

Participants in the Junior categories like the Toddler Dash and Family Fun Run will have their spots automatically moved to next year’s event, with options to defer to another 2026 Junior event or transfer to another athlete. Keep an eye out next week for more details on your deferral.

Hang tight, as other activities are also feeling the storm’s impact, including the Neath Food and Drink Festival, which has cancelled its Saturday events, and Newport’s Tredegar House parkrun—both called off due to the daunting forecast. 🌧️🌪️

Feeling disappointed? We totally get it. Your safety is crucial, and we’re grateful for your patience and understanding. Let’s keep our spirits high and look forward to future events! Stay safe, everyone! 🌈✨
