Late that January night, Thamer Alrabie, 36, from Leckwith, threatened the woman with a knife and proceeded to carry out a vile assault. However, the situation took a vital turn when the woman’s father heard the commotion and courageously stepped in, fighting off the intruder and potentially saving her life.

Alrabie, identified and apprehended by South Wales Police within 24 hours, later admitted to charges including trespassing to commit a sexual offense, sexual assault, assault by beating, and threatening with a bladed article. At Cardiff Crown Court, he was sentenced to nine years and two months in prison.
