A dramatic moment at the Admiral Swansea Bay 10k today as a runner was taken to hospital after collapsing near the finish line. With over 5,000 participants hitting the scenic route starting from St Helen’s Ground and looping through Mumbles, the event saw an unexpected medical emergency unfold.


Swansea Council confirmed that the runner received quick attention from on-site medical staff and St John Ambulance before being transported to Morriston Hospital for further care.

Spectators witnessed the incident, which happened just as the race was nearing its exciting conclusion along the Swansea seafront.
