Researchers studied retinal tissues from diabetic patients and found the same harmful molecules present—reinforcing the drug’s potential in human treatments. The team, which includes experts from King’s College London, Medway School of Pharmacy, and the Medical University of South Carolina, is optimistic about future tablet-based treatments.
