Think weight-loss jabs let you eat whatever you want? Think again! Many on injections like Wegovy and Mounjaro might be sabotaging their progress by indulging in “healthy” foods that pack way more calories than expected. While these jabs are effective for controlling appetite, they don’t free you from making smart nutrition choices.

Professor Franklin Joseph argues that relying solely on medication creates a “false security effect,” slowing down progress or even causing weight gain. So, what should jab-users look out for?

🔹 Smoothie bowls & ‘health’ smoothies: They might seem guilt-free but can hide as many calories as a fast-food meal. Sipping your calories bypasses fullness signals, making it easy to gulp down 500-800 calories without a second thought!

🔹 Protein bars & low-sugar snacks: Marketed for weight-loss? Sure. But ultra-processed with sweeteners and fats too. Some bars have more calories than a chocolate bar! Remember, protein isn’t a free pass.
🔹 Nut butters & almond snacks: Tasty in moderation but extremely calorie-dense. Two tablespoons of nut butter can have the same calories as a small McFlurry. Yikes!
🔹 Oat-milk lattes & fancy coffee-shop orders: Your daily oat-milk fix can sneak in 150-450 extra calories. A couple of these a day and suddenly it’s like you’ve had a takeaway meal!
🔹 Constant grazing: Reduced hunger might lead you to snack frequently rather than having structured meals, keeping insulin elevated and stalling fat-burning.
Want better results? Go for high-fibre, slow-digesting meals that keep you full longer. Think hearty stews, soups, veggie-loaded stir fries, and whole-fruit desserts. Focus on vegetables, whole grains, beans, lentils, lean proteins, and water-rich foods.
Remember, chewing matters—your stomach needs to stretch to feel truly satisfied! Keep this in mind, and give your weight-loss journey the best chance of success. 💪🥦🍲
