🏰 From Battlefields to Castles: Steve’s Inspiring Journey

Steve Owen’s story is one of resilience and grit. A former soldier, Steve faced a life-changing injury in Afghanistan that would see him embark on a new path. After enduring over 25 operations to save his leg and battling relentless pain, he made a decision that would alter his life forever: amputation. Far from a setback, the removal of his leg in 2016 marked a turning point, freeing him from chronic pain and allowing him to reclaim his life.

Steve’s journey didn’t stop there. With a prosthetic that redefined his mobility, he began challenging himself in unimaginable ways. Just four months post-surgery, he completed a 26-mile walk for charity, setting the tone for what would become a series of endurance challenges dedicated to helping others.
🌟 His Latest Challenge? A 100-mile walk from Cardigan Castle to Cardiff Castle, finishing on St David’s Day. No sleep breaks, only short stops for sustenance and prosthetic adjustments. He’s doing it all to raise funds for veterans and emergency service charities.
🦿 For Steve, this journey is more than just a walk; it’s a mission to demonstrate that disabilities don’t define us. His relentless spirit is fuelled by purpose and community, drawing inspiration and motivation from each donation that rolls in.
👣 And he’s not walking alone! Along the route, supporters pop in with food, cheers, and even some friendly banter. Even more special, his son—newly enlisted in the army—plans to join him for part of the journey, a proud moment for the family.
Steve’s story is a testament to the power of will and the strength found in giving back. Each punishing step he takes brings hope, proving that what some might view as limitations, are indeed stepping stones to greater things.
👏 If you’d like to support or walk a mile by his side, snap your walking shoes on and join the adventure. For those without the sturdy soles, there’s always room for a virtual applause and donation. #Inspiration #Veterans #Resilience ✊💖
