Tragedy in St Asaph this Christmas. A suspected murder has rocked the community after 68-year-old Navy veteran Harold David Turner sadly passed away in hospital on Christmas Day.

It all started when Turner was found unresponsive at his flat on High Street. Despite heroic efforts by police and paramedics, he passed away after suffering head injuries. His death prompted police to launch a murder investigation. James Ronald Hughes, 66, has been charged with Turner’s murder and is currently navigating the court process. He appeared at Llandudno Magistrates and Mold Crown Court at the end of December, with no pleas entered yet. A key date is set for March when Hughes will enter a plea.

The senior coroner has ordered a second post-mortem to gain more clarity, expected to take place soon. Mr Turner’s family is awaiting the release of the body to proceed with funeral arrangements.
