Manager Alan Sheehan has shared a fresh update about Swansea City’s ongoing hunt for a new striker. Despite missing out on key targets like Richard Kone and Oli McBurnie, who joined QPR and Hull City, respectively, the Swans are staying calm in the crisis.
With the transfer window closing soon, the search is intensifying. Although offers for talents like FC Basel’s Kevin Carlos and St Gallen’s Willem Geubbels fell through, Sheehan hints there are still a couple of European prospects in the pipeline.
He emphasises patience, saying, “We won’t rush into a decision just to tick a box. Any new addition must boost our squad effectively.” Right now, Welsh international Liam Cullen is the man in form, having started the first two games of the season. Sheehan appreciates his tireless efforts and commitment to the team: “Cullen’s work ethic and love for the club are invaluable.”
Sheehan isn’t ruling out sticking with current squad members if the right striker doesn’t come along. Promising young talents like Bobby and Vipi have had their opportunities, with Sheehan showing faith in their development and potential impact.
