Exciting news for Swansea! 🎾 Plans have been unveiled for the UK’s biggest padel centre right in the heart of the city. The £3.25 million project, under the new Jaxx Padel brand, aims to transform the old Press Glass factory into a state-of-the-art venue featuring nine indoor courts and six outdoor courts.
Pending council approval, the first phase of the centre hopes to welcome padel enthusiasts before Christmas, creating 25 new jobs for the local community. The additional outdoor courts are slated to open next summer.
This ambitious venture follows the stunning success of padel in Swansea, including the recent opening of a venue at Foresters Yard. The sport, a dynamic mix of tennis and squash, is rapidly growing in popularity across the UK, with over 400,000 players and 350 venues!
And that’s not all—plans are in the pipeline for a second site in Swansea next year, with more locations further west on the horizon. Jaxx Padel is set to be a game-changer for the city, solidifying Swansea as a hub for this fast-growing sport.
