A shocking incident unfolded at a bus stop in Kirkby, as a 15-year-old boy allegedly stabbed another teen 11 times and also injured a girl who tried to intervene. The court heard that this violent act was a planned retaliation, following an earlier altercation where a friend of the accused was hit with a metal pole.
CCTV footage played for the jury showcased the two boys approaching the bus stop, with one pulling a knife from his waistband and attacking the other teen, leaving him seriously injured on the ground. In a brave attempt to stop the attack, the boy’s girlfriend stepped in but was tragically stabbed in the chest.
Both victims were rushed to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital but have since recovered. Prosecutors argue this was a premeditated attempt to kill, with the attacker delivering numerous stabs to critical areas.
