Tony Jones-Rogers, 42, took shoplifting to the next level as he hit multiple stores down a Cardiff road within a few weeks. This serial offender swiped nearly £1,000 worth of items from a popular restaurant, adding to his overwhelming list of offences.
Starting with Albany Road’s Superdrug, he snatched £262 in perfume and aftershave. The very next day, it was £221 from Tesco Express. Brazenly returning to Superdrug just days later, he grabbed more high-end fragrances. August 30 marked his most audacious hit at Juno Lounge on Wellfield Road, making off with almost £1,000 in food and drink, leaving a trail of damage behind.
🚨 Caught and cuffed, his arrest was anything but smooth as he lashed out verbally at officers. Jones-Rogers was already on a shaky path; having just been released from custody in July for previous shoplifting offences. His towering record of 214 offences showcases a life troubled by homelessness and drug addiction from a young age.
Defence described him as “out of control” and inevitably caught in a cycle he can’t escape. The judge, however, had no choice but to hand down a 32-week prison sentence for his latest string of burglaries and thefts.
