Tragic news from Whitstable: A two-year-old boy, Sonny Macdonald, tragically lost his life after a devastating car accident just minutes from his home. Sonny and his parents were returning from a beach outing when a car veered out of control on Cromwell Road and struck the family, causing severe injuries to his dad as well. The car then crashed through a barrier into a nearby car park with an approximate six-foot drop, taking Sonny in his pushchair with it.

Emergency services were quick to the scene on that fateful evening, but despite their best efforts, Sonny was pronounced dead. His father was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is currently out on bail as police continue their investigation.

The local community has come together to pay tribute, leaving flowers and teddies at the heart-wrenching scene. MP Rosie Duffield expressed her deep sorrow for the family, noting the immense heartache they’re enduring. Authorities are urging anyone with dashcam footage or information about the incident to come forward to assist with the investigation.
