After a week of relentless rain brought on by Storm Amy, parts of the Welsh coast are bracing for potential flooding. Natural Resources Wales has slapped flood alerts on three specific areas: the north Gower coast, from Clarach to Cardigan in Ceredigion, and the Llyn Peninsula including Cardigan Bay. The mix of high tides and stormy weather is making these spots particularly vulnerable.
⚠️ Residents and businesses are urged to stay vigilant, as rising waters could spill onto roads and low-lying lands. If you’re near the coast, take extra care, especially around footpaths and estuary areas.
📅 These alerts are active through Tuesday evening and into Wednesday morning (7th & 8th October), so do keep an eye on local updates.
🌦️ What’s in the weather forecast? According to the Met Office, Wednesday starts off cloudy with more rain and drizzle sweeping through. However, it should clear up with some sunshine by the afternoon, reaching a high of 18°C. The rest of the week promises to be calmer as high pressure takes over, bringing settled and brighter conditions – fingers crossed!
