π§ M4 Alert! π§ Major Disruption Ahead Near Bristol!

Drivers, heads-up! A big shake-up is coming to the M4 for three whole days next month. National Highways has announced a full closure between junctions 18 (Bath) and 19 (M32) to make way for a crucial construction update on the A432 Badminton Road Bridge. This closure will start at 7pm on Friday, October 10, and run until 6am on Monday, October 13. Get ready as eight massive steel beams are lifted into position!

π° Whatβs Happening?
The closure marks the last major shutdown for this bridge project, a key highlight being the installation of eight hefty 80-tonne beams. Good news: once in place, the rest of the bridge can be built with less disruption. Aiming for an early 2026 opening, this new structure promises better connectivity for drivers, businesses, and local communities.
π Plan Your Drive
With 3,000 to 4,000 vehicles using this stretch hourly during peak weekend times, expect major delays. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible and consider travelling at alternative times.
π Diversions In Place
National Highways has set up a diversion route to make your alternate journey as smooth as possible. Westbound traffic will be rerouted, and eastbound travellers, follow the reverse. More details on the exact route options will be out soon, so keep your eyes peeled!
Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated as these essential works aim to enhance safety and traffic flow in the future. Safe travels! ππ¨
