🚨 Police Strike It Rich at Manchester Airport! 🚨
Greater Manchester Police have just hit the jackpot with their biggest gold seizure ever! After a tip-off about a suspicious car at the airport, authorities uncovered gold bars worth a staggering £700,000. But that’s not all—the haul also included jewellery and other valuables, making the total find worth around £2 million!
Two men, aged 49 and 45, were promptly arrested after being nabbed upon their return from Dubai. The duo, suspected of money laundering, had even more treasures: £1 million worth of gold and jewellery in their luggage. A further home search in Bradford, West Yorkshire, led officers to additional gold bars worth a cool £60k, along with a luxury watch valued at £30k and some cash.
Currently in custody, the suspects are being questioned as the investigation continues. The Economic Crime Unit is diving deep into the case to uncover the reasons behind this massive stash of gold and jewellery entering the country.
Detective Inspector Sarah Langley stated, “We are working tirelessly to get to the bottom of this. Any offences involving money or illegal goods will not be tolerated.”
