2️⃣ Prescription Cost Cap: Ever feel like you’re paying too much for meds? Proposed changes include capping the cost of written prescriptions, which means potential savings for us all.
3️⃣ Comparison Power: A new price comparison website could be on the horizon, making it easier for us to choose the best and most affordable care for our pets.
4️⃣ Independent vs. Chain: Did you know you’re likely paying 16.6% more at large chains compared to independent vet practices? Time to dig into where we’re getting our pet care!
Why the change? The CMA found that many pet owners are often left in the dark, with no clear idea of costs before committing to treatments. They also discovered that a lot of us might be paying double for common meds compared to online prices—ouch! Even more concerning, overpaying for pet cremations and being unsure how to effectively raise complaints when things go wrong are also widespread issues.
