🎾 Drama Down Under! 🎾

In a surprising twist at the Australian Open, tennis star Victoria Azarenka found herself at the centre of attention—not for her fierce gameplay, but for her choice of attire! Before her semi-final showdown against Elena Rybakina in 2023, Azarenka strolled onto Rod Laver Arena sporting a PSG football jersey. But the umpire had other plans!

🚫 The shirt was deemed a no-go due to sponsorship rules, prompting a swift change. Azarenka later clarified this in her press conference, mentioning the sponsorship clash despite both parties being linked with Nike. “They told me twice to change because of the logos,” she explained, adding it was initially intended as a tribute to her son, Leo, an avid PSG fan.
👕 Interestingly, Azarenka had worn the very same jersey after previous matches, matching with her son’s attire. Her love for PSG isn’t new; she’s been a fan since 2012 when Beckham joined the club!
🙌 A true sports mum, she proudly supports her son’s dream to one day play for the club. “I’m absolutely the most enthusiastic supporter, no shame in screaming for him,” she shared about her dual role as a tennis pro and a “soccer mum.”
Though Azarenka, ranked 148th in the world, isn’t competing in this year’s tournament, her passion for both tennis and football leaves a lasting impression on and off the court!
