Just out, a study reveals over 19 million Brits use AI every day, yet there’s a significant gap in understanding. Less than a quarter of people score high on the AIQ quiz, designed to measure AI knowledge. Whether you’re in tech-savvy Sheffield or less AI-friendly Birmingham, there’s still a lot to learn.
AI expert Dr. Nisreen Ameen, co-creator of the quiz, emphasizes the importance of understanding AI. It’s not just about using it—it’s about using it wisely and ethically. With 27% of our senior friends (80+) also using AI, it’s clear this isn’t just for the younger crowd. Inspiring stories like Lin Park from North Yorkshire, who uses AI to connect with loved ones, show just how transformative technology can be.
But, there’s a catch: 56% of people think AI “understands” like us humans, which isn’t quite true. It also turns out older folks are more likely to double-check the information AI gives them. Kudos to them! 🙌
