It’s been a heart-wrenching decade since Lorraine Ridout, a loving mother and grandmother, mysteriously vanished from Cardiff. On a chilling evening in January 2016, Lorraine left her home to visit a friend and was never seen again. Despite relentless searches and endless calls for help, her fate remains unknown.
Lorraine’s family describes this decade of not knowing as a “life sentence” filled with unendurable grief. Her daughter Christine shares how the absence of her mother has cast a shadow over countless family events and moments where only a mother’s touch would do. “Mum,” Christine says, “we love you and we have not forgotten you.” This desperate plea for connection captures the essence of their ongoing hope and relentless search for answers.

Lorraine, a beautiful soul with brown eyes and distinctive black Afro hair, would have welcomed new grandchildren into the world since her disappearance. Her family clings to the possibility, however slim, of their joyous reunion.
