Unsuspecting family shocked as young girl goes from healthy to paralyzed in mere days

When Ivy Amos, a lively nine-year-old from Bath, suddenly fell ill in February 2024, her family thought it was just a virus. Little did they know, Ivy was facing a battle with transverse myelitis, a rare neurological condition that left her paralysed from the neck down. It was a terrifying time for her family, who found themselves back and forth to doctors until Ivy ended up in intensive care.

Despite near-total paralysis and spending weeks in intensive care, Ivy’s fighting spirit is lighting a path to recovery. Thanks to the incredible support from Neurokinex, a charity offering specialised rehabilitation, Ivy has regained much of her mobility. She’s now back at school, walking with a frame, and even raising funds for Neurokinex through their #TopBinsSmallWins challenge.

The challenge is simple and fun: get a ball, aim for a tricky shot into a bin, record it, and nominate three friends to join in. Most importantly, it’s about supporting a cause that changes lives, just like Ivy’s. Every donation goes towards providing free sessions for people with spinal injuries, helping them regain independence and hope.
