π Discover the Magic Behind Swansea’s Beer Riff Brewing! πΊ

Meet Rhys Pillai, the drummer-turned-brewmaster who’s brewing up something truly special at Swansea Marina. After a whirlwind tour life with his punk band, The Arteries, Rhys found a new rhythm in craft beer. He’s teamed up with farms in New Zealand to source the perfect hops, crafting gems like the “Killer Kiwi” pale ale, which has fast become a taproom favourite!

Beer Riff Brewing isn’t your average brewery. Chilling out in a first-floor taproom, they offer a fabulous selection of around 15 international beers. Whether you’re an IPA aficionado or a stout seeker, there’s a flavour explosion waiting for you.
But what sets Beer Riff apart? For Rhys, it’s all about the blend: “It’s a science and an art,” he says, crafting beers that pack a punch and tell a story. Most hops are shipped from across the globe, but Rhys keeps things local with UK-sourced barley.
Beer Riff faced its share of challenges, from pandemic woes to rising costs, but their spirit remains undaunted. Rhys spends his days experimenting with recipes, chatting with fellow brewers, and hosting lively quiz nights that raise funds for local causes.
Fancy a pint with a view? With a welcoming beer garden and tasty pizzas, it’s the perfect spot to unwind. Despite the pressures on the hospitality industry, Rhys remains hopeful about the future. Expansion isnβt out of the question, but for now, it’s all about quality and authenticity.
Whether you’re popping in to sample the latest brew or enjoying a quiet evening with friends, Beer Riff Brewing promises an experience as unique as its beers. Cheers to great flavours and even better stories! π»
