Heartbreaking news as a 70-year-old man has sadly passed away after a helicopter crashed into a field near Doncaster this morning. The pilot, aged 41, along with two passengersâa 10-year-old boy and a 58-year-old womanâmiraculously escaped with only minor injuries. Our thoughts are with the man’s family during this difficult time.
Authorities have launched a joint investigation headed by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) and South Yorkshire Police to uncover the cause of this distressing incident. Detective Chief Inspector Gary Magnay stated, âOur thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the man who sadly died… Weâve launched a full investigation and are particularly interested in hearing from witnesses or anyone with footage of the crash.â
Emergency services promptly arrived at the scene on Ings Lane, Bentley, following reports at around 10.14 am. The area is currently closed to the public, and authorities urge everyone to avoid the location and plan alternative routes until further notice.
