Tensions are running a bit high in our charming seaside town. Recently, bold artwork appeared on the Maesdu Road roundabout. Last week, an England flag was painted, sparking quite the chatter. Not to be outdone, someone else has now added a Welsh flag alongside some not-so-friendly words aimed at the English.

The council is on the case and has promised to erase the graffiti, pointing out it not only wastes public cash but also disrupts traffic. Meanwhile, North Wales Police are investigating the situation.

Local councillor Thomas Montgomery chimed in, saying it’s essential we don’t let patriotism turn into unnecessary division. He remarked that while expressing pride in our heritage is important, the words added to the roundabout weren’t exactly the warmest welcome.

It’s not just here that flags are causing a stir. Across the UK, flags have been appearing, both legally and… well, not so legally, amidst debates on immigration and asylum.

Let’s try to keep the community spirit alive without crossing into offensive territory. We all share this beautiful town, after all! 🌊❤️

PS: If you’re in Rhyl, Elon Musk just posted a video of a flag being raised to the tune of ‘Yma O Hyd.’ Seems like our flags are making waves far and wide! 🏴‍☠️
