Guess what? Since April 2025, over 200,000 pesky potholes across Wales have been tackled! The Welsh Government is on a mission to keep our roads smooth and safe, spending a whopping £100m over the last five years.

Here’s the scoop: They’ve resurfaced more than 400 miles, covering both local roads and major routes like A-roads and motorways. Local councils, with a little help from the government, have repaired or prevented around 171,000 potholes over 324 miles of roads. That’s a lot of smooth cruising! 🛣️

But wait, there’s more! On the crucial Strategic Road Network—our busiest roads—over 30,000 potholes have been managed across more than 65 miles. From the A48 in Bridgend making waves, to the M4 getting a festive touch-up before Christmas, there’s a lot happening.

Transport Secretary Ken Skates is thrilled with the progress, emphasising that safer, longer-lasting roads mean better connections and a boost for the economy. More exciting projects are already lined up, like the A55’s Dobbs Hill to Ewloe and the A483 Beulah, scheduled for 2026.

With over £81m spent since 2021 on the trunk network, and plans to hit £118m by the end of the Senedd term, it’s clear road improvements are full steam ahead! 🛠️
