Are you dreaming of a winter wonderland? Well, BBC weather presenter Matt Taylor has some news for us: don’t hold your breath for snow just yet! After the chaos of Storm Goretti with its wild winds and blanket of snow, it looks like the UK is getting a break from extreme weather. Matt’s forecast promises no snow on the horizon this week, thanks to milder temperatures keeping things on the chilly side, but not freezing. Expect temps to hover between 5°C and 8°C.

The weekend ahead in Wales might see some showers, but brighter skies are also likely, especially inland. Coastal areas will be breezy but nothing out of the ordinary. Sunday and the upcoming week will be mostly cloudy with some stubborn fog that might hang around. A patch of frost could sneak in overnight under clearer skies, but overall, it’ll stay on the chill side both day and night.
The Met Office is keeping an eye on the skies for potential changes towards the end of January. A “battle” between mild Atlantic air and colder eastern pressure is on the cards. If colder conditions manage to muscle their way in, a dusting of snow might just return to parts of the UK. Remember, weather can be unpredictable, so stay tuned for updates!

So, while you might not be making snow angels this week, keep your winter woollies handy as February might bring a bit of a chill with “wintry hazards” in the mix. Stay warm and keep an eye on the forecast! ❄️🌧️☔
