The incident at the centre of the storm occurred in August 2017 during the V Festival in Staffordshire. Williams was off-duty, and reportedly intoxicated, when she assaulted a female ambulance technician who was trying to help her. She later claimed that she unwittingly ingested drugs while administering mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to a youth, an explanation presented in her defence. Despite this, she received a community order with 120 hours of unpaid work. 🎶🚑

After the incident, Williams, then with 17 years of experience, resigned from her role in “shame and disgust,” stepping away from nursing. However, a Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) misconduct hearing allowed her to remain on the register, a decision that’s raising eyebrows given the seriousness of the offence. The NMC recently stated there’s a slim chance of avoiding being struck off for such misconduct. 👩‍⚕️📋

Inside sources have expressed discomfort at working alongside someone with her history, especially in a role that involves the care of the “sickest and most vulnerable.” 😷🤒

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board clarified all nursing staff must have current NMC registration and adhere to its code of conduct, noting they don’t comment on individual employment terms. They assure that feedback mechanisms are in place for staff concerns.
