🏉 Big news in Welsh rugby! 🎉

Josh Hathaway, the 21-year-old Welsh international from Aberystwyth, is eyeing a potential position change this season. With Argentine full-back Santiago Carreras making the move to Bath, there’s an opening at full-back for Gloucester. Coach George Skivington hinted that Hathaway could be the perfect fit for the 15 jersey.
Though traditionally a winger, Hathaway has occasionally played full-back for Gloucester, starting in that position seven times over the last three seasons. And while an ankle injury kept him from joining the Welsh squad in Japan this summer, his past performances against big teams like Australia and South Africa have shown us his adaptability.

In a recent pre-season friendly against Munster, Hathaway showcased his skills at full-back in the second half, impressing both on defence and offence. The full-back spot is anybody’s game, with Skivington stating, “The full-back spot is wide open if I’m honest. I wouldn’t say anyone’s a dead cert.”
With the new season upon us, Hathaway and his teammates, including the versatile Charlie Atkinson and Ben Loader, are all strong contenders for this coveted position. Who will ultimately secure the spot? Only time will tell, but it’s clear that excitement is building at Kingsholm! 🙌
