Get your winter gear ready, folks! The Met Office has hinted at a snowy surprise for parts of Wales this weekend. As low pressure sweeps over the UK, expect a chilly shift in weather with the possibility of “extensive snow” over higher ground in north Wales.

Three scenarios are on the table for Saturday. The least likely (20% chance) involves deep low pressure bringing heavy rainfall and “extensive hill snow” to Gwynedd, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, and Wrexham. However, the chances are more favourable (45%) for the low pressure to deepen further south, triggering torrential rains across North Wales instead.

The third scenario sees the system pushing even further south, threatening south west and south east England with intense rain. So, you might want to hold off on sledging excitement just yet!
Aside from snow, brace yourself for strong coastal winds later this week. While no official warnings are out, it’s wise to stay vigilant and safe, especially if you plan to be by the sea.
Let’s keep an eye on the skies and stay warm this weekend. Stay tuned for any updates to the forecast! #WeatherWatch #SnowInWales
