📢 Big changes are coming to Cwmbran! Marks & Spencer has announced it’s closing its store in the town centre by the end of the month. The little M&S tucked inside the former WH Smith is set to close its doors for good on Saturday, September 27th. 🗓️

Unfortunately, this has left many shoppers feeling disappointed. Regulars are already missing the large food hall that shut down in 2019, and some locals like Philip Ryder are saying, “The food hall should’ve stayed. The WH Smith store was too limited.”

And he’s not the only one with an opinion. Gary Lee thinks M&S should have considered opening a separate food hall with delivery options, while Helen Crosby believes the store was bound to struggle due to its size and range. 🛍️
This closure is part of M&S’s larger plan to close 100 underperforming stores by 2028. Last year, M&S also said goodbye to its Neath location, citing changing shopping habits and an aim to focus on “the right stores in the right places.”
For those still craving their M&S favourites, don’t worry! You can find them in the much larger store just a short hop away in Newport. 🚗
