🚨 School Alert: Carway Community Primary in Carmarthenshire won’t be opening this September due to safety concerns! 🚧 The council has decided to temporarily move all pupils to Gwynfryn School in Pontyates, which is just a quick 5-minute drive away. 🚍
The move comes after an inspection highlighted structural issues in the school building that need immediate attention. The council assures us that this decision is solely to keep our kids and staff safe while they figure out the next steps. 🛠️
All students will continue to enjoy free school meals, and the beloved breakfast and after-school clubs will carry on as usual. 🍽️ The staff is also being reassigned within the federation, so students will still see familiar faces.
While the timing is less than ideal—especially right before the new term—everyone’s safety comes first. The council is busy setting up transport arrangements and promises to keep parents updated. 🚌🗓️
The transition doesn’t affect the little ones in Cylch Meithrin (Welsh-Medium playgroups), but more info will follow for concerned parents. 🤔
