📢 Attention, Wales! 📢

Get ready for a change in your water bills this year. As water prices rise across both England and Wales, Dŵr Cymru and Hafren Dyfrdwy are adjusting their rates too.

Here’s the scoop:
💧 Dŵr Cymru’s average annual bill is set to go up by 4.8% in 2026-27, increasing from £652 to £683. Good news: that’s below the UK average hike of £33.

💧 Hafren Dyfrdwy, however, is seeing a bigger jump, with bills increasing up to £54 a year.
Starting April 1, the average Welsh Water customer will be paying just under £2 a day for water and wastewater services.
Roch Cheroux, the Chief Executive of Dŵr Cymru, assures that providing valuable service at an affordable price is their mission. “It’s vital we offer the service our customers desire at a price they can afford,” he says. Despite steep price hikes impacting everyone, the focus remains on delivering value and supporting communities and the environment.
But there’s concern in the air. The Consumer Council for Water (CCW) reports a whopping 51% increase in complaints about water companies last year, mainly rooted in issues of affordability.
Mike Keil of CCW adds, “We’ve seen affordability complaints triple recently. People support investment, but they’re eager for change and want proof that their money is being well spent.”
Keep an eye on your bills and make sure you’re getting the most bang for your buck this year! 💸💧
