🔥 Firefighters Battle Blazing Mountain Inferno Near Llandudno! 🔥
Firefighters are in their second day of tackling a massive mountain fire near Llandudno, a well-known resort town. The blaze on Cwm Mountain, close to Maesdu Golf Club, has been lighting up the night sky, with smoke visible as far away as Abergele and the Conwy Valley. Local residents have been urged to stay indoors and keep windows closed due to the heavy smoke.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service has had teams working through the night, and they’re still going strong. With five fire engines and specialised units on scene, tackling the tricky terrain is no small feat. The fire isn’t giving up easily, with hotspots continuing to reignite.
Photos from the scene capture the intense flames and smoke, drawing concerned looks from nearby residents. The fire’s visible for miles, sparking widespread concern. One local described being able to “literally hear the fire crackling.”
Safety is the main priority, and the fire service is urging everyone to avoid the area. Although the forecast hints at rain, which could aid efforts, the fire teams anticipate being at the site for some time yet.
Recent fires in the Cynon Valley have already demonstrated the devastating impact wildfires can have on the environment. Natural Resources Wales is advising everyone to swap BBQs for picnics when enjoying the countryside to prevent any accidental flare-ups.
