ππ¨ Dramatic Rescue at Little Orme! π¨π

What a week itβs been for the coastguards in Llandudno! With the sun shining and everyone out enjoying the summer holidays, thereβs been no shortage of drama along the Welsh coast.

This Saturday, a woman found herself in a sticky situation on the sheer cliffs of Little Orme, which rise 141 metres above the sea. Fortunately, our incredible coastguards were on hand, and the decision was made to call in the cavalry β a coastguard helicopter! The woman was safely airlifted to Bodafon fields, where she received medical attention and was joyfully reunited with her partner. πͺπ©ββοΈπ

The rescue was just one of many this week for these unsung heroes. Earlier, they responded to a range of incidents, from someone with a head injury on Penrhyn Bay beach to people stuck on a sandbank and a paddleboarder who, luckily, had everything under control.
Here’s a quick rundown of their hectic week:
1οΈβ£ Located a vulnerable missing person.
2οΈβ£ Assisted a beachgoer with a head injury.
3οΈβ£ Helped someone trapped in a cove, thanks to a friendly jet skier.
4οΈβ£ Rescued folks stranded on a sandbank at Kinmel Bay.
5οΈβ£ Retrieved inflatables and checked on a kayak near Rainbow Bridge.
6οΈβ£ Assisted a vessel off Llanfairfechan into safe harbour.
7οΈβ£ Monitored a paddleboarder making their own way to safety.
The coastguard shared a vital reminder: If you ever spot someone in trouble by the coast, don’t hesitate β call 999 and ask for the coastguard. βοΈποΈ
