A devastating accident involving a four-year-old girl on her balance bike and a van driver has left a community reeling. This little girl sustained life-threatening injuries after being struck by the van, driven by Jolanta Motiejuniene, who was reportedly not paying attention at the time. This tragic incident occurred at Waun Burgess back in February 2023, and the child is still on her road to recovery.
Motiejuniene was sentenced to 10 months in prison and has received a 20-month driving ban after being convicted of causing serious injury by careless driving. She’ll serve half her sentence in custody before completing it in the community on licence.
The girl’s family has expressed immense gratitude toward everyone who supported them in seeking justice for their daughter. They said, “Our lives were turned upside down due to the injuries caused to our beautiful daughter. We are forever grateful to those who got justice for her.”
