In a concerning incident today, a child was struck by a car right outside Palmerston Primary School in Barry. This unfolded on Dobbins Road around 3 pm on Wednesday, 11th February. Fortunately, the youngster’s injuries are not considered serious.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing a presence from both the police and the Welsh Ambulance Service at the scene. Due to the accident, the road was temporarily partially blocked, but it has since been reopened.

South Wales Police quickly responded to the accident, confirming the child involved is thankfully not badly hurt. It’s always alarming when something like this happens near a school, but we’re grateful that the outcome wasn’t more severe.
Stay alert on the roads, and hug your little ones extra tight tonight as we keep the child and their family in our thoughts.
