A young woman in her 20s has suffered a horrific racially aggravated assault in Oldbury. The attack, labelled as a hate crime by authorities, occurred around Tame Road on Tuesday morning. Reports suggest her attackers hurled vile racist remarks during the incident, telling her, “You don’t belong in this country – get out.”

West Midlands Police are hot on the case, describing it as an isolated event. CCTV checks, forensic investigations, and community outreach are underway to bring those responsible to justice. Detectives are keen to speak with anyone who may have spotted two men in the area at the time. One man reportedly had a shaved head and was wearing a dark sweatshirt, while the other was in a grey top with a silver zip.

Chief Superintendent Kim Madill is reassuring locals by assuring that extra patrols will be visible around the neighbourhood. She acknowledges the worry this attack has sparked amongst residents and emphasises their commitment to solving this case swiftly.

The Sikh Federation (UK) has condemned the attack, describing it as chillingly bold, given it took place in broad daylight. Support from the community and advocacy groups is pouring in for the victim and her family. Dabinderjit Singh, a spokesperson, has urged politicians across parties to take a firm stand against such violent, racially motivated crimes.
