Lidl’s plans include a 1,969 sqm store with 103 parking spaces. After holding public consultations and receiving feedback from over 1,300 locals, a whopping 89% showed their support! 🙌

Lidl already has a strong presence in the UK with around 980 stores, and this new addition aims to boost the local economy and offer opportunities for training and career growth.

However, not everyone is on board. Pembrokeshire Council raised concerns about the store’s visual impact on the rural setting, especially given its proximity to the National Park. 🌳

While Tenby Town Council welcomes the investment and job prospects the new supermarket could bring, they also expressed worries about how it might change the landscape and affect traffic.

Local councillor Rhys Jordan chimed in, supporting the idea of a new supermarket due to benefits like lower prices and job opportunities, but questioning if this specific location is the right fit.

It’s a hot topic in the area as everyone awaits the council’s decision. Stay tuned to find out if Tenby is about to get a fresh new shopping destination! 🛍️🌿
