The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is ringing the alarm on 10 UK areas where millions face a higher risk in the event of a cardiac arrest due to lack of quick access to defibrillators. 🏥 A cardiac arrest is a critical emergency where the heart suddenly stops, and immediate access to a defibrillator can more than double survival chances. For every minute lost, survival drops by up to 10%! ⏱️

Here are the 10 areas in need:
– Barking and Dagenham
– Liverpool
– Southampton
– Nottingham
– Wrexham
– Newport
– Airdrie, Hamilton, and Motherwell
– Bonnybridge, Croy, and Cumbernauld
– West Tyrone
– Cusher

In some spots, like rural West Tyrone, it can take nearly 20 minutes to reach a defibrillator – a delay that could be the difference between life and death. ⌛ The BHF is urging these regions to apply for the Community Defibrillator Funding Programme. This initiative will place 400 more defibrillators in needy communities and register them on The Circuit – the national network for defibrillator locations. 🚑

BHF’s Sam Kennard stated: “Every second counts in a cardiac arrest. Quick access to a defibrillator is crucial before emergency help arrives.”

Great strides have been made, but more defibrillators are needed—especially in deprived areas. Let’s push for change and save lives! ❤️
