Two takeaways in Pembrokeshire have been caught out for displaying misleading food hygiene scores! 😮
🍛 Seven Spice in Pembroke Dock and 🍗 USA Fried Chicken in Milford Haven were both found guilty of displaying higher ratings than they actually had. The reality? Both had a food hygiene rating of just ONE but were showing off as fours, fives, or threes!
The owners – Arkan Ullah of Seven Spice and Kamuran Babahan of USA Fried Chicken – faced the music in court. Ullah owned up in person, while Babahan was convicted in his absence. The hefty fines? Ullah was slapped with £660 plus costs, and Babahan faces a £1,000 penalty.
Cllr Jacob Williams from Pembrokeshire County Council says, “Displaying the correct food hygiene rating is crucial for consumer safety. We’re serious about enforcing it!”
