πβ¨ A New Chapter for Lansdowne Primary! ππ«

After 127 amazing years, Lansdowne Primary in Cardiff has bid a fond farewell to its historic Norfolk Street home. This school has stood tall through two world wars and countless changes, but now it’s time to move to a brand-new location!

To celebrate, pupils, staff, and families came together for a fantastic day filled with nostalgia and fun. From dressing up in outfits from the school’s past eras to picnicking with music through the ages, everyone cherished the memories made in this iconic building. β¨
As Headteacher Michelle Jons put it, “We’re simply turning the page to a new chapter. 127 years of Lansdowne wonβt be left behind in these walls – those years will live in us and shape our future.” πβ€οΈ
The new site, less than half a mile away at the former Fitzalan School, promises exciting prospects with modern facilities. Expect flexible classrooms, fully refurbished halls, updated nursery spaces, and state-of-the-art ICT. A fresh school logo has also been launched, capturing the vibrant, multicultural spirit of Lansdowne’s community.
This move comes after ongoing issues with the school’s current Grade II listed buildings, which sadly have reached their ‘end of life’ stage. From roof leaks and unsafe windows to drainage problems, it’s been a challenging ride. But with the new location, Lansdowne Primary is ready to shine even brighter! π
Here’s to the future and the enduring spirit of Lansdowne! ππ
