**Shocking Incident in Cardiff: Man Jailed After Vicious Car Stabbing**

A chilling scene unfolded in Cardiff when a car passenger was brutally stabbed in the neck and stomach. The assailant, Abdul Ali, 20, attacked the 34-year-old victim before fleeing and hiding in a nearby takeaway’s toilet. The victim thankfully survived after urgent medical attention.

The drama began on Salisbury Road around 11:30 pm when Ali, seated in the car’s front seat, attacked as soon as the victim got in. Following a courageous attempt by another passenger to restrain Ali amidst the chaos, he managed to escape, but not for long. CCTV footage led detectives straight to Ali, and he has now been sentenced to 10 years in prison for wounding with intent.
The police had the area cordoned off the next day for investigations. Detective Constable Anthony Hurley commented, “Knife crime is a critical issue for us. This was a potentially fatal attack if not for a brave intervention. We’re committed to ensuring such violence does not become a norm in our city.”
Incidents like these remind us of the importance of tackling knife crime head-on. Our thoughts are with the victim, and we commend the swift action of the police and community in bringing justice. Remember, carrying or using a knife carries severe penalties—let’s work together to keep our streets safe.
Stay vigilant and stay safe, Cardiff!
